We welcome volunteers, students and professionals, whether you are local or international. Currently we are specifically seeking professionals in the social work field, as well as a doctor who is willing to monitor the children’s health. We hope for all volunteers to fully engage themselves and to contribute with a positive attitude. Tasks include mentoring/tutoring, child rearing, office-type work, accompanying children to the clinic, cooking, helping out with laundry, and other tasks. If you wish to volunteer with Emasithandane we ask you to be willing to help out with any or all daily activities.

Volunteering requirements:

1. Have the ability to be versatile and apply yourself positively to all tasks and activities.
2. Be financially stable enough to provide for yourself while staying in South Africa; accommodation and transportation are not included. Public transportation can be used if you are comfortable and aware of your destination.
3. Be well versed in South African culture and be aware of safety precautions that are to be taken.
4. Have the ability to commit to a schedule.
