Our mission is to provide education, food, and a safe home/shelter with a secure, loving environment for abandoned, abused, orphans, vulnerable children, and those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. We strive to work towards providing children with the best possible quality of life. |

| Mama Zelphina Maposela (founder & Director) moved to Nyanga from the Eastern Cape in 1974. She had always been interested in community development and worked for years with community health programs focused on home-based care towards patients suffering from tuberculosis (TB), and HIV/AIDS. |

Mama Zelphina Maposela - Founder and director who oversees the organisation and its sustainability. Mr. Mbuyisi Sithole - Managing coordinator who is responsible for management of the projects, activities, and programmes.
Miss Hazel Maposela - Administrator who does all the bookkeeping and other administrative work.
Emasithandane is located in the township of Nyanga, which means “moon” in the native language Xhosa. Nyanga is located 26 km outside of Cape Town. It is easy to reach by using the N2 highway and is located close to the Cape Town International Airport. We are opposite the Nyanga Community Health Centre/Clinic.About
| Emasithandane means “a place where we love each other,” in Xhosa. It was started by Mama Zelphina Maposela with the vision of caring for orphans and vulnerable children in her community of Nyanga. There are over 35 children living at the home. Emasi is run by a group of dedicated people who look after the growing number of children. |
